ASC Centre South Bangalore Recruitment 2026: Notification Out for 62 Group C Posts | Eligibility & ESM Physical Standards

The Ministry of Defence, Government of India has released an official recruitment notice for ASC Centre (South) – Bangalore in the Employment News (dated 15–21 August 2026). A total of 62 Group 'C' vacancies are open for Indian citizens across multiple civilian trades, with dedicated horizontal reservations and physical endurance relaxations for Ex-Servicemen (ESM).

Educational & Trade Qualifications

  • Tradesman Mate / Cleaner / MTS (Chowkidar): Matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board with proficiency in the respective trade.
  • Civilian Motor Driver (OG): Matriculation passed, valid driving licence for both Heavy and Light Motor Vehicles (HMV/LMV), and at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Fire Engine Driver: Matriculation passed, valid heavy vehicle driving licence, minimum 3 years of heavy vehicle driving experience, and certification from a recognized firefighting institution.
  • Fireman & Leading Fireman: Matriculation passed, conversant with firefighting equipment, first aid, maintenance of trailer fire pumps, and fire drill operations.
  • Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI): Matriculation passed, Diploma/Certificate in Catering from a recognized institution (1 year teaching experience desirable).
  • Cook: Matriculation passed with proficiency and knowledge of Indian cooking.
Physical Endurance Standards for Tradesman Mate (ESM Relaxations)

Ex-Servicemen applying for the Tradesman Mate (Labour) post are provided age-wise physical relaxations:

Physical Standards for Fire Staff (Fireman / Leading Fireman / Driver)

  • Height (without shoes): Minimum 165 cm (2.5 cm concession for ST category candidates)
  • Chest (Un-expanded): 81.5 cm
  • Chest (Expanded): 85.0 cm
  • Weight: Minimum 50 kg
  • Skill / Endurance Test
    • Carrying a human dummy (65.5 kg) over a distance of 183 metres within 96 seconds.
    • Clearing a 2.7-metre-wide ditch (landing on both feet).
    • Climbing a 3-metre vertical rope using hands and feet.

  • Single Application Only: Candidates must apply for only one trade. Applications will be rejected if an applicant submits forms for multiple trades.
  • Documents to Enclose: Self-attested copies of Educational Qualification Certificates/Marksheets, Caste/Category Certificate, Discharge Book/PPO/ESM Identity Card (for Ex-Servicemen), Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Domicile/Experience Certificates, and a self-addressed registered envelope with appropriate postal stamps.
